On September 22 we celebrate Mabon - The Second Harvest Festival.
This is the autumnal equinox when day and night are of equal length, and the beginning of autumn, when darkness begins to overcome the light in the continuous cycle of life and death.
Mabon is the pagan Thanksgiving. Now is the time to prepare for the winter and express gratitude to Mother Nature for all the treasures she has given us. Be grateful for all you have accomplished so far and let go of everything you don't need anymore.
This festival is also called The Fruit Festival, and its most important symbol is the apple. So use it in all possible ways, scent your home with it and immerse yourself in the spirit of autumn.
Other symbols of Mabon are pumpkins, gourds, squashes, corn, grapes, pears, damsons, rosehip, blackberries, blackthorn, autumn leaves, sunflowers, marigolds, cinnamon, rosemary, frankincense, blackbird, eagle, owl, salmon, stag, orange, red, yellow copper and brown color.
Use tem to make Cornucopia or Mabon altar. Celebrate, be grateful, but also think about the future.
